Research Staff

Research and historian questions are being directed to director and curator, Nita Naugle.

Historian, Mike Yurich passed away August 20th, 2015. He is greatly missed. Mike was honored for his passion and contributions to preserving the area history by receiving the distinguished Leckenby Pioneer award October 17, 2012.

Yurich was born in Oak Creek and lived in his childhood home for most of his life, save for a 15-year stint in the Peace Corps, during which he served in many countries. Yurich developed a voracious appetite for collecting items of historic significance for the Tracks & Trails Museum. Mike has compiled oral histories, newspaper clippings and has written and edited a large number of books and pamphlets. The museum, archives, school groups, locals, and visitors benefited by the local history shared, research, tours given, and daily volunteer hours Mike had unselfishly made a central part of his life.
